Verizon fios tv remote dvr updating
Yesterday they replaced a piece of coax connected to the VMS that they thought was maybe bad due to a kink.
The problem happened when they were in the house so they saw the video freezing and stuttering (doesn’t always happen).
I've noticed that I can store my settings to the cloud. It's a pain to have to reset all my favorite channels and series passes. In order to transfer user settings, favorites, and series passes both devices have to be within the same platform.
When I get the new box, how does my settings from the cloud get back in the box. I do know recordings don't count but this time of year there are so few shows to record that I have no unwatched recordings. The legacy set top boxes run different software then the Quantum boxes. So you would have to manually set them to 1080p as such.
However such as after 4 Hours the STB turns off if one does not change the channel. Just play around with the settings menus to see what you like. In order to transfer user settings, favorites, and series passes both devices have to be within the same platform.
Also, I noticed that there is an option to retrieve from cloud that I never noticed before, I only remember seeing upload to cloud. In any case, I will give that a try when the new box arrives.
Eitherway the problem should be fixed and it wasn’t a loose cable from my self install of the FIOS one boxes as was suggested here. I do have unused coax terminals in other rooms of the house that are not capped. Otherwise I can pick up some caps to put on the coax plugs in these rooms.
Instead of capping them can I just unscrew the coax lines heading out of the big splitter in the basement? My wife saw a verizon truck at the end of the driveway this morning near our box that feeds the house. You can unscrew the unused legs from the splitter, but you'd still want to cap the unused ports. We get them in bags of a hundred, I'm sure he can spare a few.
Best recommendation is to take pictures or write everything down before upgrading. I switched to Quantum, and was able to transfer my settings.
You are transferring your settings to the cloud, which have nothing to do with the devices you are using.
